Nikki Bate - Office Manager and Commercial
After leaving school at the age of 17, Nikki joined Meadons in July 1988 as an Insurance Trainee, concentrating on all aspects of Personal Lines including administration, renewals, mid term adjustments and quotations. Following a career break of 6 months in 1995 to have her daughter Sophie, she then returned and continued to further her knowledge for the next 5 years before moving into Commercial where she provided administration support to the Account Executives whilst gaining valuable knowledge and understanding of various commercial products herself. To reward all her hard work and dedication to Meadons, Nikki was promoted to Office Manager in October 2004. Nikki also has an active role dealing with the company accounts and statistics with Angela as well as looking after a front office team of five and also liasing with the Directors and Commercial Account Executives. Nikki is a general ‘all rounder’ and can turn her hand to anything and is a valuable member of the management structure of the Company. Socially, Nikki enjoys spending time with her family, a good glass of wine, health and fitness and holidaying to her favourite destinations of Italy (Lake Garda) and Scotland (Loch Lomond).

Jane Kay - Commercial Farm Account Executive
Jane joined the Company in 1991 having previously worked in the insurance industry for the past 5 years mainly dealing with Personal Lines and Claims. Since joining Meadons she has progressed into commercial broking and is currently a Commercial Account Executive specialising in Agricultural and Farm Insurance which she has first hand experience of as she manages her own flock of sheep at her father’s farm. She also supports and liases with the Directors and is very much involved in the mid management side of the Company along with Nikki and Lesley and has proved such loyalty and commitment to Meadons over the last 16 years and is a dedicated and valuable member of staff. On a more social note, Jane is a keen supporter of Whitchurch Rugby Club.

Lesley Prior - Account Executive
Lesley joined Meadons in 1997 as a commercial administrator and now has over 20 years experience in this field. She has since become a Commercial Account Executive handling a large commercial cliental and supporting the Directors with the commercial account. Also, Lesley administers the Cricket Club Scheme along with Neil and support from both Nikki and Jane. Again, Lesley is very much part of the mid management team and an extremely valuable member of staff with her commitment and dedication to Meadons being second to none. Lesley escapes from working life by playing the flute in a local wind band and one day we might even see her at the Royal Albert Hall. Her other passion, apart from her family is her golden Labrador dog called ‘Popeye’ .

Angela Bratton - Accounts Manager
After a career break, Angela returned to the insurance industry in 1999 having previously gained 8 years experience in personal lines. Since joining Meadons, Angela mainly dealt with motor administration and claims but in October 2004, she was promoted to Accounts Manager and now handles all our Company accounts. This job in itself and the responsibilities that it brings with it being the ‘heart of the operation’ shows the dedication and commitment that Angela demonstrates to Meadons. To relax and unwind, Angela enjoys gardening and hopefully one day may be displaying her works at the Chelsea Flower Show.

Kate Nagington - Insurance Technician
Since joining Meadons in July 2004 as an Insurance Trainee, Kate went on to complete her Cert CII qualification, which took 2 years. During that time she has concentrated her efforts on Personal Lines dealing with renewals, quotations and mid term adjustments. She also assists with the day to day running of the Nationwide Building Society. She has recently started to assist with the administration of some commercial products namely; property owners, small liability insurance and personal accident and this will obviously start to extend her insurance knowledge for the future. She also handles the majority of our personal motor claims with Jenna and the entire household claims herself with the support of her senior members. Kate has shown maturity beyond her years and is a very valuable and appreciated member of the team. Socially, Kate enjoys motor racing with her partner and likes to socialise with friends.

Alice Jenks - Insurance Apprentice
Alice joined us in July 2008 after leaving the local 6th form school and has been taken on a Modern Apprenticeship basis in conjunction with a local college. She too is very keen & willing to learn and wants to forge a career in insurance.

Sharon Wyles - Nationwide Building Society
Sharon joined Meadons in September 2006 as the Nationwide Building Society Supervisor after working for the Leek United Building Society for a number of years. Sharon is responsible for the day to day running of the agency, balancing, dealing with new account enquires, problem solving and promoting new products with the help and support of Nikki, Kate and Debbie. Sharon also provides administration support for one of our Directors, Rob for mortgages and life & pensions enquiries. Sharon’s favourite pass time is to spend time with her family and in particular her grandchildren.

Bill Higgs - Compliance Officer
Bill joined Meadons in September 2002 and is solely responsible for the FSA compliance and training needs within the Company. He has been in the insurance industry for over 25 years and has been an Accounts, Claims, & Underwriting Manager on Commercial Insurance for many years before taking up his current role. With an extensive knowledge, Bill can help tutor and train other staff members to achieve their goals.
